Nous sommes en 1989 ... Amine Bouhafa a 3 ans et commence à jouer du piano.
Il a 12 ans et sort diplômé du Conservatoire National de Musique de Tunis. Il entame une carrière particulièrement précoce de pianiste-arrangeur. Il a 15 ans et compose sa première partition pour un court-métrage. Le Cinéma est une passion qui ne le quittera plus. Il multiplie les expériences dans les séries et les longs-métrages. Titulaire d’une bourse d’études, il s’installe à Paris. L’occasion est trop belle : parallèlement à de brillantes études d’ingénieur, il étudie l’harmonie et le contrepoint au Conservatoire de Paris. En équilibre sur une double culture qu’il revendique, Amine Bouhafa développe un style très personnel en se jouant des clichés de l’orientalisme. La qualité de son écriture et l’originalité de son style, lui valent alors d’être choisi par la productrice Sylvie Pialat et le réalisateur mauritanien Abderrahmane Sissako pour composer la musique de Timbuktu. Le film sera recompensé par 7 César, dont celui de la meilleure musique originale. Amine Bouhafa est, la même année, élu Grand Prix France Musique – Sacem 2015 et reçoit commande d’une pièce de concert « Tolérances & Interdits », en hommage aux victimes des attentats, qui sera crée en 2016 par l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. Sa carrière ainsi lancée, Amine Bouhafa multiplie les projets propres à exciter sa curiosité artistique. Il compose, en 2017 la partition de La Belle Et La Meute de Kaouther Ben Hania, projeté en sélection officielle (Un Certain Regard) du Festival de Cannes où il remporte le Prix de la Meilleure Création Sonore. Il signera ensuite nombre de partitions pour des films tels que Looking For Oum Kulthum, de Shirin Neshat produit par Razor Films et projeté en sélection officielle de la 74ème Mostra de Venise, Tu Mourras À Vingt Ans de Amjad Abu Alala (Lion d'Or du premier film - Mostra 2019 / Prix de la Meilleure Musique au Festival International du Film d'Odessa 2020 ), Un Fils de Mehdi Barsaoui récompensé par le prix du meilleur acteur (sélection Orizzonti - Mostra 2019), Gagarine de Fanny Liatard & Jérémy Trouilh (Selection Officielle du Festival de Cannes 2020 - Prix de la Meilleure Musique Originale au Festival du Film de Rome 2020 et au Festival International du Film Indépendant de Bordeaux (FIFIB), L'Homme Qui A Vendu Sa Peau de Kaouther Ben Hania récompensé par le prix du meilleur acteur (sélection Orizzonti - Mostra 2020) et nommé aux Oscar en 2020 dans la catégorie Meilleur Film Étranger, Le Sommet Des Dieux de Patrick Imbert (Selection Officielle du Festival de Cannes 2021) ... Plus récemment, on lui doit la musique du film Les Filles d'Olfa de Kaouther Hania, en sélection Officielle du Festival de Cannes 2023 où il remporte l'Oeil d'Or du meilleur film documentaire. Le film, également récompensé par un César, est en lice pour les Oscars.
